Students enjoy learning from high-impact online videos from original content creators like Crash Course, Khan Academy, and Extra Credits, so I have been working on a project that treats the vast world of nerdy internet videos like a catalog. I think it is vital to empower students to quickly find content about a specific person, city, battle, or concept, even if it is the middle of a longer video. My overall vision is to integrate YouTube and Wikipedia more efficiently into the classroom. So far, I have identified 15,000 unique YouTube videos from high quality content creators, and I have clipped 3,000 video clips and curated them by category, geographic region, time period, and key terms.
