Areas of Focus
The most important element of a classroom is the student, so I choose professional areas of focus based on how they impact students. Below are six major elements of a classroom that can support students.
I spend time developing materials and seeking professional development for these areas of focus: setting positive and forward-thinking behavior expectations, supplementing curriculum, building a strong culture of reading, communicating simply the most complicated standards, using best practices to support my teaching philosophy, and fully integrating technology.
